"The Mother City"is the nickname given to Cape Town city in South Africa. A city that is still to this day haunted by apartheid spatial planning and has many unresolved socio-political problems that go completely ignored by the governing bodies of the city.
The work tries to resonate with the underlying anger toward growing imbalances in the city and its communities. It also tries to echo the violence enacted on these residents through the lack of opportunity for work along with many inhumane practices that have been inherited from the apartheid system. Apartheid systems that are still upheld in this urban scape more than anywhere else in the country.
