Born in 1976 in Harare, my work is reflective of the social aspects of human traditions and cultures in relationship to their surroundings. I endeavor to rephrase them to have a contemporary perspective.
My pieces are always multi-layered in both concept and assemblage, often using found objects like cardboard, rugs or newspapers to build up a theme. Color is essential to my work and I use it to unify disparate objects in each piece. My work is sometimes embellished with text representing content, comment and interpretation.
“I am a painter, visual poet, social commentator, arts activist, whichever way you may want to call me. But at the end of the day I’m just doing what I love the most”.
